As a Swimming Teacher, you will be part of a dedicated team responsible for delivering fun and exciting lessons to our Learn to Swim customers who range from Pre-School to Adults, Beginners to Improvers. What you need to know Hours: Our positions cover our City-wide Learn to Swim venues meaning you could work in any of our venues delivering Swimming Lessons; examples of some of our current vacancies include: Monday 3:40 – 8pm at Glasgow Club Tollcross Tuesday 3:40 – 8pm at Glasgow Club Springburn/Glasgow Club Gorbals Wednesday 3:40 – 8pm at Glasgow Club Scotstoun Thursday 3:40 – 8pm at Glasgow Club Bellahouston/Glasgow Club Scotstoun Friday 3:40 – 8pm at Glasgow Club Tollcross/Glasgow Club Maryhill Saturday 8:40am-1pm at Glasgow Club Springburn Sunday 8:40am-1pm at Glasgow Club Gorbals Sunday 2:40 – 7pm at Glasgow Club Bellahouston/Glasgow Club Tollcross Contract type: Permanent Pay details: The listed salary is for a full-time role. If you’re applying for a part-time or bank job, we will calculate your pay on a pro-rata basis. The hourly rate is £14.40 - £15.30 per hour (approx.) Location: At any of our Glasgow Life swimming pool venues; all with excellent public transport links and free parking on site. What you’ll do As a Swimming Teacher you’ll be a part of an established team, working within a team of teachers with the support of Lead Swimming Teachers & Swimming Co-ordinator. Our Swimming Teachers plays a vital role in the successful delivery of our Learn to Swim programme across all venues and are integral to ensuring the programme is a success and will be key in the practical delivery of the programme. Glasgow Sport delivers the Scottish Swimming Framework ensuring the programme meets nationally recognised standards. If you have the right aptitude and enthusiasm; we will work with you to make you the best teacher possible If you’re interested in joining us as a Lead Swimming Teacher, you’ll must have one of the following qualifications: Scottish Swimming Teachers Qualification (SSTQ) UKCC Level 1 or UKCC Level 2 STA Certificate in Teaching Swimming (please note, STA Award cannot be considered)   We are also looking for candidates who have the following essentials: Motivated, professional and innovative Good communication skills and a flexible approach to work An understanding of teaching swimming lessons within group environments (age range 4yrs to adults, group sizes 5-14 approx.) The ability to work evenings and weekends to meet the needs of our core programme  Our city-wide venues mean you will be flexible to work in any of our locations. We currently operate our lessons across 7 pools across Glasgow; Scotstoun, Tollcross, Bellahouston, Maryhill, Pollok, Gorbals and Springburn with more venues being re-introduced in the coming months.
