Regional Surveyor – Shape Our Estate!

Join us as a Regional Surveyor and help maintain and improve our pub estate. You’ll oversee projects and ensure our properties stay in top condition.

You’ll take ownership of a portfolio of pub assets, ensuring they are compliant, well maintained, and fit for purpose at all times.

Reporting to the Director of Property Services, this role is key to our long-term growth strategy. You’ll combine technical expertise with strong relationship-building skills, working closely with Operation Managers, General Managers or Licensees, and contractors to deliver outstanding results. Autonomy, initiative, and effective communication will be essential as you manage projects, budgets, and compliance across a diverse estate.

What You’ll Do:

• Gain a detailed understanding of buildings and assets across your allocated estate, ensuring properties are compliant and well maintained.
• Provide specialist advice and resolve issues relating to repairs, maintenance, sustainability, and efficiency.
• Prepare scheme designs and detailed schedules for planned refurbishment and capital projects (up to £150k) and manage delivery.
• Support the project team on larger investments.
• Manage monthly repair and maintenance budgets and develop planned works programmes.
• Monitor contractor service level agreements and ensure supply chain performance.
• Carry out annual inspections and condition surveys, preparing schedules of repair and managing resulting works.
• Coordinate regular review meetings with Tenants, Business Development Managers, and General Managers to ensure maintenance and compliance works are completed on time and to the highest standard.
• Conduct routine Schedule of Condition and Dilapidation surveys and liaise on resolutions.
• Ensure all works meet Health and Safety standards and promote a safe working culture.
• Provide support for out-of-hours emergencies when required.
• Maintain accurate property data and records on central systems.
• Prepare regular reports and escalate areas of concern to the appropriate manager or Director.

Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week (Mon–Fri, 08:30–17:00)

What You’ll Need:

• Degree in Building Surveying (or equivalent experience).
• Experience in property inspections; knowledge of historic buildings desirable.
• Knowledge of dilapidations and property compliance.
• Experience in the pub/restaurant or licensed leisure sector desirable.
• Strong relationship-building, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Highly motivated, commercially aware, and self-driven.
• MRICS desirable or working toward professional membership.
• Proficient in MS Word and Excel; AutoCAD experience desirable.
• Full driving licence required.
