Key Responsibilities: *Inspect surface preparation activities including abrasive blasting, power tool cleaning and other preparation methods. *Carry out inspections of prepared substrates, ensuring cleanliness, profile depth and compliance with project specifications. *Monitor coating application processes, ensuring correct materials, mixing ratios, application methods and dry film thickness requirements are achieved. *Review coating systems, technical data sheets and project specifications to ensure compliance. *Complete accurate inspection reports, quality records and project documentation. *Liaise with production and site teams to maintain quality standards throughout projects. *Identify and record non-conformances and support corrective actions. *Champion quality, safety and continuous improvement initiatives. *Prior experience within structural steelwork, fabrication or heavy engineering environments! Qualifications & Experience as Coatings Inspector: *NACE CIP Level 2 or equivalent (AMPP, FROSIO or ICorr accepted) *Experience inspecting protective coatings and surface preparation. *Strong knowledge of coating inspection standards, techniques and quality documentation. *Ability to interpret technical specifications and engineering documentation. *Strong communication, reporting and IT skills (Word & Excel).
