Job Description
Volunteer Filmmaker / Documentary Maker / AI Story Creator / Content Creator Help Us Tell the Story of the Lyonic Scots to the World The Lyonic Scots Society is a Scottish heritage and cultural organisation dedicated to preserving and sharing our history, traditions, and creative spirit. In 2026, our community stepped proudly onto the global stage — and now we’re building a storytelling identity worthy of that legacy. We’re looking for a creative volunteer filmmaker, documentary maker, AI storyteller, or digital content creator to help us bring our heritage to life through powerful visual and narrative media. If you love culture, storytelling, and creating content that resonates, this role is for you. The Role You’ll help shape how the world sees the Lyonic Scots — crafting films, short documentaries, AI‑generated stories, and digital content that captures our heritage, our people, and our journey. Your work will help us connect with audiences across Scotland and around the world. What You’ll Do Produce short films, mini‑documentaries, or interview‑based content about our heritage, traditions, and community. Create AI‑generated short stories, visual narratives, or creative digital pieces inspired by Scottish culture. Develop social media content — reels, shorts, story posts, and cinematic clips. Capture or create footage from events, gatherings, and cultural activities. Support the creation of campaign videos, heritage storytelling projects, and global outreach content. Work with our communications team to ensure a consistent narrative and visual identity. What We’re Looking For Strong filmmaking, editing, or digital storytelling skills (Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut, CapCut, or similar). Experience in documentary-style storytelling, short‑form content, or AI‑assisted creative production. A flair for heritage, symbolism, and narrative-driven content. Ability to work independently and interpret creative briefs. Passion for Scottish culture, history, storytelling, or community development. What You’ll Gain A chance to build a global portfolio with meaningful, heritage‑driven creative projects. Experience working with a growing international cultural organisation. Recognition across our published materials, social media channels, campaigns, and events. The opportunity to help shape a cultural legacy through film and storytelling. Invitations to join us at events — seeing your work showcased and celebrated in real time. How to Apply Please send your portfolio, showreel, or examples of your creative work — along with a short note about your interest in Scottish heritage and storytelling — through the Charity Job site.
