The Role Working alongside an experienced Payroll Manager, you'll support the day-to-day processing of multiple client payrolls, ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time while maintaining compliance with current payroll legislation. The business is looking for someone who enjoys working as part of a close-knit team, has excellent attention to detail and takes pride in delivering an exceptional service to clients. Key Responsibilities Processing weekly and monthly payrolls of up to 80 employees per payroll. Processing new starters, leavers, statutory payments, sickness, time sheets and payroll amendments. Carrying out National Minimum Wage checks. Assisting with the onboarding of new payroll clients. Responding to payroll queries via telephone, email and in person. Completing monthly pension uploads and reconciling pension contributions. Ensuring compliance with Pension Regulator requirements. Maintaining GDPR compliance and payroll accuracy. Supporting the Payroll Manager with the smooth running of the payroll function. About You We're looking for someone who has: A minimum of 2 years' payroll experience. Up-to-date knowledge of PAYE, pensions and GDPR legislation. Experience processing payroll from start to finish. Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills. Strong communication skills with a proactive and customer-focused approach. Desirable experience Payroll bureau or accountancy practice experience. Alternatively, experience within an in-house payroll team. Knowledge of payroll legislation relating to holiday pay, statutory payments and working time regulations. Experience processing director payrolls would be advantageous but is not essential. Working Hours This role is offered on a part-time basis (15-22.5 hours per week) . The successful candidate must be available to work on Tuesdays , with flexibility around how the remaining hours are worked. The client is happy to consider shorter working days (for example, 6-hour days) or alternative working patterns to suit both the successful candidate and the needs of the business. As the payroll department continues to grow, there is potential for additional hours in the future.
