Job Description

HR Administrator - Local Authority Hourly Rate: £13.69 PAYE Location: Sheffield City Centre Job Type: 1 Full-time (37 hours per week, Monday to Friday), 1 Part-time (29 hours 42 minutes per week, across 4 days) We are seeking two HR Administrators to join our team at a local authority in Sheffield city centre. This role requires a minimum of one day per week in the office, with the flexibility to work from home on other days using the provided laptop. This position is ideal for individuals with a strong background in HR duties and a keen understanding of Data Protection legislation. Day-to-day of the role: Manage HR-related queries through email, MS Teams, and occasionally by telephone. Handle both physical and electronic employee file management. Ensure strict adherence to Data Protection legislation and maintain confidentiality. Utilize Microsoft applications such as Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint, File Explorer, and Teams effectively. Depending on the specific role: Maintain the organisational establishment on a HR system, manage reporting changes, and adapt to business or structural changes. Administer Disclosure & Barring Service Checks, including identity document checks and using relevant technology. Manage administrative tasks related to redundancy quotes, ill health retirement applications, and other related processes. Required Skills & Qualifications: Experience in general HR duties and mailbox management. Strong knowledge of Microsoft applications. Understanding of Data Protection legislation. Specific experience in one of the following areas: HR system management (iTrent experience advantageous). Administering DBS checks and related processes. Handling administrative tasks related to retirement and redundancy processes. Excellent communication and organisational skills.
