Warehouse and Dispatch Operative

Jennifer Griffiths Recruitment are looking for an experienced Warehouse and Dispatch Operative for a Client in the Bridgend area. Job Overview To ensure the Company meets its high quality standards this role is designed to assist with the inventory, initial quality checking, stock management and packing of equipment before the customer receives goods to ensure they are in full working order. You will be completing warehouse tasks ensuring customer orders are delivered to meet both quality standards and delivery deadlines. Responsibilities and Duties * Receiving, unpacking, labelling and inventorying equipment and deliveries. * Securely packing items for dispatch to prevent damage in transit. * Palletise, strap, and shrink-wrap bulk orders safely for freight collection. * Lift and move packages manually up to 25kg safely within the workspace. * Log in and operate third-party courier software daily. * Input precise shipping data, including dimensions, weights and customs details. * Generate accurate commercial invoices and shipping paperwork for export. * Perform cyclical inventory counts to keep digital systems aligned with physical stock. * Update stock records immediately upon item receipt, relocation, or dispatch. * Keep the inventory database organised to avoid tracking overlap or miscounts. * Monitoring stock levels and warehouse material such as packaging material to ensure supplies are replenished. * Any other ad-hoc duties as required. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the Dispatch Desk * Shipping Portal Accuracy: Maintain a 99.5% error-free rate on entries. * Inventory Discrepancy Rate: Achieve an absolute variance of under 1% during random spot checks and weekly stock counts. * Order Turnaround Speed: 100% of orders are picked before the deadline. * Tested Product Packing: 100% of products tested before the deadline. * Packaging Quality: Maintain a 0% return rate. Essential Requirements * Proven experience in a busy dispatch or warehouse environment. * Comfortable with basic data entry, Excel and printing labels. Desirable Requirements * Background dealing with international air freight shipping rules. * Direct experience using dedicated apps. * Confident communicating with external courier drivers during handovers. Competencies * Excellent organisational skills. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills. * Be self motivated and adaptable to any changes. Hours of work are: Monday to Friday/ 8.30am to 4.30pm
