Huntingdonshire District Council is looking for an enthusiastic Ranger to join our Parks & Countryside Team, helping to manage some of Cambridgeshire's finest country parks, nature reserves and green spaces, including nationally important wildlife sites.
No two days are the same. You'll deliver practical habitat management, woodland and grassland conservation, infrastructure maintenance, visitor engagement and estate management while helping protect and enhance biodiversity across the district.
You'll also work closely with volunteers, schools, community groups and partner organisations, leading practical conservation tasks, supporting events and encouraging people to enjoy and care for the natural environment.
About you
We're looking for someone who:
- Has experience in practical countryside management, conservation or estate maintenance.
- Has knowledge of habitat management and wildlife conservation.
- Can safely use and maintain a range of grounds maintenance equipment.
- Enjoys working with volunteers and engaging with the public.
- Is self-motivated, practical and able to work independently or as part of a team.
- Holds a full UK driving licence.
Relevant countryside qualifications or equivalent practical experience are essential. Chainsaw, brushcutter or other countryside qualifications are desirable but not essential.
