Job Description
Join the Peak District National Park Authority's Countryside Maintenance & Projects Team (CMPT) and play a vital role in maintaining and improving one of the UK's most iconic landscapes. This is a varied, practical role working across the National Park, often in remote locations, delivering essential maintenance, repairs and improvement projects.
You'll undertake building and grounds maintenance, including mowing, strimming, tree and boundary management, repairs to footpaths and multi-user trails, and the day-to-day management of selected sites. You'll also support larger projects such as car park and footpath resurfacing, drainage improvements, groundwork and minor construction works. Applicants with experience in plumbing, construction or general building maintenance are particularly encouraged to apply.
Based at Ashford in the Water near Bakewell, you'll spend most of your time working across the National Park alongside an experienced and supportive team.
About You
You'll have practical experience in building maintenance, grounds maintenance, landscape construction or a related trade, together with a willingness to develop new skills. Experience operating plant and machinery is desirable.
A strong understanding of health and safety is essential, along with the ability to work safely in public spaces, communicate confidently with visitors and provide excellent customer service.
