Job Description
As a Finance & Business Administration Apprentice, you will gain valuable hands-on experience across a variety of finance, administration, and office support functions. You'll play an important role in ensuring the smooth running of our financial processes and day-to-day operations, whilst developing the skills and knowledge needed for a successful career in business administration or finance.Key ResponsibilitiesFinance & Accounts SupportAssist with bookkeeping activities, including tagging and categorising financial transactions.Organise and maintain finance documentation, including supplier invoices, remittance advice, purchase orders, and journals.Register new suppliers within the company's accounting systems.Prepare and manage invoices, ensuring services provided are accurately recorded and documented.Maintain and update records of client rates and service agreements.Support the preparation of documentation for HMRC reporting requirements, including intermediary reports and VAT submissions.Assist with purchase order management, procurement administration, and data input.Help ensure financial information is communicated accurately and efficiently across the organisation.Business Administration & Front of HouseShare responsibility for front-of-house duties, acting as a professional first point of contact for visitors, staff, and stakeholders.Welcome visitors and ensure signing-in procedures are followed in line with safeguarding requirements.Support the implementation of health and safety, fire safety, and safeguarding procedures.Answer telephone and door enquiries professionally and courteously.Help create a welcoming, positive, and organised office environment.Assist with general office administration, including stock control and ordering of stationery and resources.About YouWe are looking for someone who:Has excellent organisational skills and strong attention to detail.Is confident using IT systems and Microsoft Office applications.Demonstrates a positive attitude and willingness to learn.Can communicate professionally with colleagues, clients, and external stakeholders.Is able to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively.Has a genuine interest in finance, business administration, or accounting.Shares our commitment to safeguarding and supporting young people.What We OfferA structured apprenticeship programme with on-the-job training.Opportunity to gain valuable experience in finance and business administration.A supportive and friendly working environment.Career development opportunities within a growing organisation.The chance to contribute to an organisation dedicated to improving outcomes for young people.About Next Steps EducationNext Steps Education is committed to providing high-quality educational support and opportunities that help young people overcome barriers, build confidence, and achieve their goals.
