Key Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe Accounts Apprentice will work closely with the team while studying towards an AAT qualification. Full training and support will be provided.BookkeepingProcess purchase invoices and sales invoicesComplete bank reconciliationsMaintain accurate accounting records using cloud accounting softwareProcess journals under supervisionAccounts PreparationAssist with the preparation of sole trader, partnership and limited company accountsPrepare working papersAssist with year-end accountsReconcile balance sheet accountsVATPrepare VAT returnsCheck VAT records for accuracyEnsure VAT deadlines are metPayrollAssist with weekly and monthly payroll processingProcess pension contributionsSupport PAYE administrationClient SupportBuild positive relationships with clientsRespond to client queries professionallyRequest information and documentationAssist clients with cloud accounting software where appropriateAdministrationMaintain electronic client filesPrepare engagement documentsManage incoming correspondenceAssist with company secretarial dutiesDigital & TechnologyUse cloud accounting software including Xero, QuickBooks and SageLearn and embrace AI and digital technologies to improve efficiencySupport the team with digital systems and process improvementsProfessional DevelopmentStudy towards the AAT qualificationAttend college or online learning as requiredApply new knowledge within the workplaceMeet apprenticeship and training provider requirementsTeam ResponsibilitiesWork collaboratively with colleaguesContribute positively to the teamDemonstrate professionalism and confidentialityContinuously develop technical and communication skills
