Apprentice Data Technician - Deadly Dozen

We are looking for a Race Results & Operations Assistant to work closely with our Results & Operations Lead, supporting the systems, data and organisation behind Deadly Dozen races worldwide.This is not a repetitive admin role where you are shown one process and repeat it forever. The work changes constantly. One day you might be checking athlete data and results files; the next, helping resolve a registration issue with an international director or working through a timing or leader board problem nobody has encountered before.We need someone organised, proactive and genuinely good at figuring things out.What you’ll be doingPreparing, checking and cleaning athlete registration dataBuilding and managing results files, leader boards and split-time dataChecking race results for missing information, errors and inconsistenciesSupporting race setup, including entries, team information, wave times and event dataCoordinating with timing companies, race directors, gyms and athletesResponding to queries clearly and professionallyHelping improve the templates, systems and processes behind Deadly Dozen operationsTaking ownership of new problems and working towards practical solutionsWhat we’re looking forYou do not need previous experience in race timing or event operations. What matters more is how you think and work.You will likely be a strong fit if you:Are confident with spreadsheets and large, imperfect datasetsCan spot when something does not look right and investigate it properlyEnjoy solving problems without needing every step explainedAre highly organised and comfortable managing several moving pieces at onceCommunicate clearly and professionally with a wide range of peopleCan work independently but know when to ask the right questionsUse AI tools intelligently as part of how you workAre comfortable in a fast-moving role where priorities can changeThis role will not suit someone looking for a fixed, predictable list of tasks.
