Aston Mullins Stud are looking for an enthusiastic apprentice to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a company who will give the successful candidate the support and platform to develop their skills and launch a career in the equine sector.£16,640 for your first year, then could increase depending on your ageNational Minimum Wage rate for apprenticesEquine groom (level 2)Shifts are to be discussed with the employer.40 hours a weekThis is a great opportunity for Equine Apprentice to get stuck in with the daily running of the stud, including, but not limited to:Mucking outTurning out/bringing inTacking up and tack cleaningFeeding and filling hay netsClipping/pulling/plaiting/trimmingBathing and rug changingFirst aidExercising horses from the ground (lunging, horse walker, long reining, pessoa training etc.)Holding for vet/farrier/dentistWhere you'll workASTON MULLINS FARMFORDBUCKSHP17 8XGAll training will take place at the employer's premises, with the support of the employer, and will be carried out by Haddon TrainingDesirable qualificationsGCSE in:English (grade 4)Maths (grade 4)Share if you have other relevant qualifications and industry experience. The apprenticeship can be adjusted to reflect what you already know.Previous experience working with horses is essential. Candidates must be 18 or over (due to insurance purposes), and ideally have their own car as location is very rural, hardworking and keen to succeed in the equine industry. A good sense of humour is a must! Accommodation is available if required.
