An excellent opportunity arises at Trent Valley to work on a yard with a real mix of horses and ponies, from Showjumpers to hunters; this yard has it all and is also the current BHS Exam Centre for budding teaching enthusiasts to gain their BHS Stages and teaching qualifications. The role involves all general yard duties, including mucking out, turning in and out, changing rugs, picking out feet, feeding, filling haynets, filling water buckets, tacking up and untacking, lunging, helping with in-house competitions, and riding is available for the right candidate. The ideal candidate will possess a GCSE in English (grade 4) and Maths (grade 4), and demonstrate skills in communication, attention to detail, organization, customer care, presentation, logical thinking, teamwork, creativity, initiative, non-judgmental attitude, patience, and physical fitness. Although there is no accommodation available with this position, it is easily accessible by both train and bus, so please ensure you can commute daily before applying. There is also the possibility of livery for your own horse for the right candidate. Established in 1958, the riding center has grown tremendously and aims to be the East Midlands Riding Centre of Choice. After this apprenticeship, there are opportunities for progression to the Level 3 Senior Groom and the possibility of full-time employment upon completion of the apprenticeship.
