Job Description
Ben Leathers seeks a new team member for his yard offering superb facilities including outdoor schooling, a jumping field, gallops, and 23 acres of cross-country. In this apprenticeship, you will care for 26 eventing horses and schooling liveries, groom at shows, and support the team with various yard duties including preparing for shows, turning out, mucking out, lunging, and riding for the right candidate. This apprenticeship offers practical experience as it is based onsite, reducing classroom time. Support is available for those who have not obtained their maths and English GCSEs. Applicants must be UK residents or have lived in the EU for at least three years. Note that individuals with an Equine Level 3 qualification cannot apply for this role. The ideal candidate will possess a GCSE in English (grade 4) and Maths (grade 4), along with skills in communication, attention to detail, organization, customer care, teamwork, and initiative. After completing the apprenticeship, you can look forward to full-time employment, becoming a show groom, learning how to train horses, and progression to the Level 3 Senior Equine Groom position.
