Job Description
We offer a Level 2 Equine Groom apprenticeship position within a BHS approved, family-run riding centre that facilitates all riding abilities. This role includes providing private and group lessons, clinics, hacks, shows, stable management club, pony days, summer camps, tots toddles, and more. We seek to employ an apprenticeship groom to join our friendly and experienced team to provide excellent care for our livery and school horses. Responsibilities include mucking out, keeping the yard tidy, grooming, picking out feet, rugging, turning horses in and out of fields, tacking up and untacking horses, feeding, and general horse care. Riding opportunities are available for the right candidate. You will work towards your Level 2 Equine Groom apprenticeship and Functional Skills qualifications in maths and/or English at levels 1 or 2 if needed. All training is provided at the employer's premises by the employer and Haddon Training. The working pattern includes 5 days out of 7 with weekend work expected, and the final working pattern will be discussed with the successful candidate. This role offers 40 hours per week. Candidates should have excellent communication skills, good basic equine experience, and a love for horses and outdoor work.
