Job Description Woodburn Primary is a large and well-established community focussed primary school that serves the Woodburn area of Dalkeith.  Following an extension completed in October 2024, the school gained 9 classrooms, a STEM room, additional gym hall, improved outdoor play spaces and a multi-use games area. In January 2025, the school also gained a Complex Needs Provision. Woodburn is committed to providing a safe, nurturing and supportive learning environment for all. We place considerable value on trust, respect, nurture, equality and equity.  The successful post holder will work as part of the wider office team supporting the day to day running of the school.  This is a front facing role in a busy office environment which involves working with a range of staff, children, families and other school partners. Essential Evidence of competency in literacy and numeracy skills such as a minimum of three standard grades level 3 passes or above to include Mathematics and English or equivalent.  SVQ 2 or equivalent is an acceptable alternative. Some practical experience or demonstration of competency in the use of word processing and standard PC software packages. Demonstrable competency in keyboard and clerical skills; SVQ 2 or equivalent is an acceptable alternative. Experience in a similar office environment, with a working knowledge of modern office equipment would be desirable.   CLOSING DATE - Monday 17th August INTERVIEW DATE - Monday 24th August RequirementsPosition Title: Office Support Assistant Directorate: Children, Young People and Partnerships Location: Woodburn Primary School Contract Status: Permanent Hours of Work: 27.5 hours per week Weeks per year: 39 Please note that it is Midlothian Councils policy that successful applicants will be appointed to the first point on the salary scale. Based on 27.5 hours over 39 weeks per year, the minimum actual salary for this position is £18,351.07 per annum. ResponsibilitiesThis post is considered Regulated Work with Children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act, 2007.
