Connect Appointments is recruiting a Trainee Cheesemaker to join an established dairy manufacturing business based in Gifford.This isn't a standard production role. You'll receive structured training across all key cheesemaking processes: from milk handling and pasteurisation through to culturing, coagulation, curd handling and maturation - progressing towards independent working as your competence develops.What's on offer?Ongoing temporary position4-on 4-off night shift, 10pm to 6am16.82 per hour - paid weeklyStructured on-the-job training with clear competency progressionAs a Trainee Cheesemaker, your duties will include:Assisting in the manufacture of cheese and dairy products in accordance with approved recipes and specificationsMonitoring key process parameters including temperature, time and pH, reporting any deviations promptlyOperating production and packing equipment safely in line with Standard Operating ProceduresCompleting production and cleaning records accurately to support traceability and BRCGS complianceMaintaining high standards of hygiene in line with HACCP, allergen control and hygiene zoning requirementsTo be considered as a Trainee Cheesemaker, you will need:A Level 2 Food Hygiene certificate - ESSENTIALPrevious experience in a food production or manufacturing environment is advantageousA genuine interest in developing a career in dairy and cheesemakingA reliable, detail-focused approach with strong communication skillsInterested in this Trainee Cheesemaker role?
