Trainee Debt Adviser Salary: £28,000 per annum Hours: 35 hours per week Location: London (Hybrid working available following probation and business needs) Contract: Permanent (subject to funding) We're recruiting on behalf of a specialist London-based charity that supports people experiencing financial hardship through debt advice, money guidance and financial education services. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a career in debt advice and make a real difference to people's lives. You'll join a supportive team and receive training and ongoing professional development to become a Debt Adviser. Key responsibilities Supporting clients with debt advice appointments and casework. Managing client enquiries and correspondence. Gathering and analysing financial information. Maintaining accurate and confidential case records. Providing tailored, client-focused support. Working towards appointment and casework targets. Supporting workshops and other services. Undertaking ongoing training and development. About you We're looking for someone who is organised, empathetic and passionate about helping others. Previous debt advice experience isn't essential. You'll have: Experience in a client-facing or customer service role. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong listening and interpersonal skills. Good numeracy and IT skills, including Microsoft Office. Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail. The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines. A commitment to learning and professional development. An understanding of confidentiality and safeguarding. Experience within the charity, advice or community sector would be advantageous.
