About the role
We're looking for a patient, organised and personable Male Support Worker to join our team in Nottingham (NG5), supporting a gentleman in his 30s with autism.
This is a highly rewarding 1:1 lone-working role, where you'll build a strong, trusting relationship and support someone to live independently, confidently and on their own terms.
The gentleman you will support enjoys an active and social lifestyle. He loves getting out and about, exploring the local area and spending time pursuing his interests.
His interests include:
Snooker
Public transport and travelling around the city
Eating out
Watching tennis
Social media
Cooking meals from scratch and choosing his own ingredients
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys building meaningful relationships and supporting independence.
What you will be doing
You'll provide personalised support tailored to the individual's needs, including:
Encouraging independence and daily living skills
Supporting meal planning, shopping and cooking
Administering medication
Supporting community access and social activities
Encouraging healthy routines and personal goals
Building positive relationships with family members and professionals
Maintaining accurate records and support plans
Providing consistent, person-centred support
Shift patterns
Typical shifts include:
Long day with sleep-in: 7:00am - 11:00pm + sleep-in
Sleep-ins are typically included within a 24-hour shift pattern
Some split shifts may occasionally be required (16:00-22:00)
Rotas are provided in advance to support a healthy work-life balance.
