What you will be doing

You will join an inclusive and supportive team that works well together to provide care to people with a range of Mental Health conditions, using your knowledge and skills to help people along their recover pathway towards leading a valued and fulfilled life.

Your day-to-day will include ward rounds, analysing behaviours and adapting care accordingly with colleagues, updating patient records, and providing overall care and support, which may include assisting with personal hygiene.  

It can be quite a challenging environment at times, so a positive attitude, compassion, resilience and vigilance are important. But it is hugely rewarding to see people improve because of your involvement, knowing that you’ve made someone’s life better.

This is a permanent, 21 hours part-time waking night staff position, working on shifts between the hours of 9.30pm and 7.30am.

Location: Gresham House, Station Road, Staplehurst, Kent, TN12 0PZ

Gresham House provides a specialist residential service for all gender identities who have a learning disability, or who are autistic, and have behaviours which, due to their diagnosis may be of concern/distress. As well as supporting those who have a learning disability or who are autistic, we are specialists in working with additional complex needs .   The service is staffed 24 hours a day by a dedicated team of Support Workers, led by an experienced Registered Manager.   Gresham House is situated in Kent and provides 12 en-suite bedrooms. The service has a quiet room, dining room, double lounge with direct access to a large garden, that contains a summer house/sensory room and visiting pod. There is an excellent range of community facilities and amenities within walking distance, including a large supermarket that can support with personal and food shopping for menu planning, a vast array of independent shops, hairdressers, primary care services, church and a library. The service is in the village of Staplehurst in Kent, which is ten miles south of Maidstone. Staplehurst has a fast train service to London and there are good train and road links across the south.
