Rooted Finance is looking for a motivated and compassionate Trainee Debt Adviser to join our specialist advice and casework team. As a Trainee Debt Adviser, you will provide high-quality, client-focused debt advice and casework support, helping people understand their financial situation, maximise their income, reduce their outgoings, and develop realistic plans to manage their debts. Working in a busy and rewarding environment, you will build your skills through hands-on experience, training and support from experienced advisers and managers. You will manage your own caseload, conduct client appointments, maintain accurate records and ensure advice is delivered to the highest professional standards. Key Responsibilities You will: Provide accurate, effective, and tailored debt advice based on each client’s individual circumstances. Conduct regular client appointments and manage an ongoing caseload in line with agreed targets. Support clients to complete detailed financial assessments, budgeting plans and income maximisation reviews. Negotiate with creditors and support clients to establish realistic and sustainable repayment arrangements. Develop clear action plans and follow up on agreed actions to help clients achieve positive outcomes. Maintain accurate and timely case records using CRM systems, ensuring compliance with data protection, confidentiality and regulatory requirements. Ensure all advice meets Rooted Finance quality standards, including FCA requirements and recognised debt advice frameworks. Work collaboratively with colleagues and external organisations to provide appropriate referrals and wider support. Identify risks, including safeguarding concerns, and escalate appropriately. Contribute to service development, evaluation and improvements that strengthen Rooted Finance’s support for the community. Take part in ongoing training and development to build knowledge, skills and confidence as a debt adviser.
