We're looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Livestock Grazing Assistant to join us and support the day-to-day management of our grazing livestock. This is exciting, hands-on opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, has a passion for livestock grazing, and takes pride in maintaining high standards of animal welfare and land management.
You'll spend your days working outdoors alongside our Livestock Grazing Officer and Reserves Rangers. Your responsibilities will include:
- Monitoring livestock health, welfare and behaviour
- Moving animals between grazing areas in line with grazing plans
- Checking and maintaining fences, gates, electric fencing and water systems
- Recording livestock movements and grazing information
- Assisting with livestock handling, weighing and routine husbandry tasks
- Supporting pasture management and conservation grazing activities
- Ensuring high standards of animal welfare, biosecurity and farm safety
We're seeking someone who has:
- A passion for conservation grazing and livestock management, primarily cows and sheep
- Experience of animal husbandry, preferably with lambing and calving
- Agricultural or land management background
- Experience operating farm vehicles or machinery
- Comfortable working outdoors in all seasons and weather conditions
- A strong team player with a positive attitude
- Reliable, hardworking and willing to learn
- Ability to work independently when required
- UK driving licence
