Habitat Operative

Salary: 27-29K

Role:

Your role will be to carry out ecological works relating to vegetation management activities, ecological restoration and mitigation. This role could suit a newly qualified arborist, landscaper or vegetation operative with an interest in ecology.

You will be based in Lee on the Solent, Hampshire, with travel throughout the region and occasionally the surrounding areas. This position will be largely field-based on various sites.

Responsibilities:

• Carry out on-site ecological works including vegetation and habitat management, ecological restoration and installation of mitigation works including wildlife fencing
• Report to Ecological Land Manager

Qualifications:

The following are essential:

• Experience with:
  • Vegetation or habitat management
  • Operating hand tools
• Strong communication, organisation and team working skills, positive attitude, self-discipline and a desire to be challenged
• Ability to lift 23kg
• Full driver’s licence

• City & Guilds Certificates
  • Chainsaw
  • Brush-cutters and Trimmers
  • Manually Fed Woodchipper
• Relevant post-graduate education desired
• CSCS card
• Manual Handling or Working at Heights certificates
