About the role
We're looking for a compassionate, motivated and team-focused Support Worker to join our friendly service in Bromsgrove (B60), supporting five adults (two gentlemen and three ladies) aged 50s-60s with learning disabilities and autism.
This is a warm, sociable home where people enjoy meaningful activities, staying active, and building strong relationships with both staff and family. You'll play an essential role in helping each person live a fulfilling life, supporting independence while ensuring care is delivered with dignity and respect.
Who you will be supporting
The people you'll support enjoy a range of engaging and enriching activities, including:
Hydrotherapy and swimming
Sensory sessions and music activities
Theatre trips, cinema and arts & crafts
Day trips along the rivers and outings in the community
They live together in a shared home, with some maintaining close relationships with their families, who visit regularly. A sense of humour, warmth and a positive team approach will help you thrive here.
What you will be doing
This is a varied and rewarding role where every day is different. You'll support with:
Promoting independence and supporting people to live the lives they choose
Personal care and mobility support, including hoisting and repositioning
Wheelchair support and ensuring comfort and safety
Medication administration, including epilepsy support
Daily living support, including cooking, cleaning, shopping and appointments
Encouraging engagement in activities and community outings
Building strong, positive relationships with the people you support and your team
Shift patterns
This is a part-time role (28 hours) with shifts including:
Long days: 7:30am - 9:30pm
You may occasionally support the waking night team where required.
Rotas are provided in advance to support a healthy work-life balance.
