Title: Peer Mentor Volunteer Location: Barking & Dagenham Salary: Volunteering opportunity Contract type: Minimum of 6 months commitment Hours: Between 2-3 hours a week (days can be agreed) We are looking for a committed and compassionate Peer Mentor Volunteer to join our service in Barking and Dagenham supporting women who have experienced domestic abuse. This role offers the opportunity to use your own experience, empathy, and insight to empower survivors as they rebuild their confidence, independence, and sense of safety. As a Peer Mentor Volunteer, you will provide supportive, trauma‑informed mentoring to service users, You’ll work closely with staff to ensure a safe, appropriate, and empowering environment for survivors. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, lived experience relevant to the role, the ability to maintain boundaries, and a genuine commitment to supporting women in their recovery journey. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of women at a crucial point in their journey.
