Owen Reed is looking for a Document Production Technician for a top law firm in Newcastle. Working Arrangement: Hybrid working (2 days office, 2 days home, 1 flexible day). The Opportunity An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Document Production Technician to join a leading law firm and become part of a highly skilled document production team. This Document Production Technician role offers the opportunity to work with colleagues across multiple offices, delivering high-quality documentation and technical support to legal and business services teams. The successful Document Production Technician will be responsible for producing, amending and formatting complex business-critical documents while ensuring exceptional levels of accuracy, presentation and client service. This Document Production Technician position is ideal for an experienced professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys solving technical document challenges. Key Responsibilities Document Production Produce, amend and format complex legal and business documents in line with firm house style requirements. Proofread work to ensure accuracy in spelling, grammar, formatting and presentation. Create and update documents using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio and Outlook. Redesign and improve document layouts and presentations where required. Troubleshoot and resolve formatting and document-related issues. Work collaboratively with colleagues to meet deadlines and deliver exceptional service to internal clients. Workflow & Administration Manage and update workflow systems and document tracking tools. Log incoming work accurately and ensure requests are completed within agreed deadlines. Maintain document filing standards and ensure completed work is correctly saved and accessible. Support scanning, PDF conversion, photocopying and other document-related administrative tasks. Attend team meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. Client Service & Team Support Clarify instructions and deadlines where required to ensure successful delivery of work. Respond professionally to telephone and email enquiries. Support colleagues and provide cover during busy periods. Ensure effective handovers between shifts and team members. Share knowledge, best practice and document solutions with the wider team. Skills & Experience The ideal Document Production Technician will have: Previous document production experience within a professional services or legal environment. Experience working with lengthy, complex and occasionally corrupt documents. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Visio. Experience using Adobe Acrobat Pro, PDF Docs and DocXTools. Strong proofreading skills and exceptional attention to detail. Typing speeds of at least 65 words per minute with strong audio and copy typing skills. Experience working with scanned documents and document management systems. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot document issues. Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines. Excellent communication and client service skills. MOS Word Expert qualification or a willingness to work towards professional certifications.
