Learning Support Assistant Location: Salfords Job Type: Full-time We are seeking a dedicated SEND Learning Support Assistant to join our team at a school in Salfords. This role is crucial in supporting the teacher with the development and education of children with special educational needs and disabilities. The ideal candidate will be passionate about helping children achieve their full potential and have experience in a similar role. Day-to-day of the role: Assist in the delivery of education for specified children by participating in day-to-day learning activities. Support in planning and evaluating interventions, adapting teaching materials to meet the needs of specific children. Discuss with and report back to the teacher on the assessment of the child’s work and support with additional paperwork such as ISP writing and end of term level judgements. Carry out assessments related to interventions and contribute to the planning and delivery of interventions, including core subjects and life skills. Participate in CPD opportunities and contribute to multi-professional discussions regarding a child’s needs/progress. Work as part of a team to ensure the well-being, behaviour, personal development, and relevant medical needs of the children enhance their learning opportunities and life skills. Liaise and provide feedback to parents in a professional manner, in collaboration with the class teacher. Implement and support school-based positive behaviour management strategies. Ensure that all pupils have the resources necessary to access their learning independently. Support with positive engagement and effective supervision of children during break/lunchtime. Maintain high standards of professionalism and adhere to the school’s high expectations at all times. Ensure high quality and accurate record-keeping such as CPOMS. Assist with supporting pupil educational visits. Maintain confidentiality in and outside the workplace. Understand and assist in following school policies. Required Skills & Qualifications: Experience working with children, particularly those with special educational needs and disabilities. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently. Commitment to professional development and learning. Understanding of and ability to implement effective behaviour management strategies.
