We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Trainee / Apprentice Estimator to join our client's growing team in High Wycombe. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start or develop a career within the construction industry, gaining hands-on experience while working alongside experienced estimators. The successful candidate will support the Estimating Team in preparing accurate and competitive tenders, ensuring enquiries and estimates are processed efficiently and professionally. You will also have the opportunity to liaise with clients and suppliers, helping to secure future business opportunities while developing your technical knowledge and estimating skills. The successful candidate will receive ongoing support, training, and mentorship from experienced professionals within the business. Where applicable, they will support you through an apprenticeship programme, providing the guidance and resources needed to achieve relevant industry qualifications and build a successful long-term career. Key Responsibilities Working under the guidance of the Estimating Manager and Senior Estimators, you will: Assist with the preparation of material take-offs from drawings and project information Prepare and issue enquiries to material suppliers, labour providers, and specialist subcontractors Receive, review, and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors Compile and collate pricing information for tender submissions Prepare scope documents and supporting information for tender presentations Follow up estimates and maintain communication with clients where appropriate Support the team in ensuring tender submissions are delivered in accordance with company procedures and ISO 19650 requirements. Help maintain standards required to retain ISO 19650 certification Attend product and technical training sessions, both in-house and with members of our supply chain What We're Looking For A positive attitude and willingness to learn Strong attention to detail and good organisational skills Good communication and interpersonal skills Basic IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications An interest in construction, estimating, engineering, or project delivery A proactive and reliable approach to work Ability to work both independently and as part of a team Please note that we will only contact those candidates that we assess as suitable for the positions we have currently available based on their experience, training, and skills.
