Job Title: MECHANICAL ENGINEER (Hydraulics)
Location: Taunton, Somerset
Salary: Generous competitive salary to be discussed on application
Hours: Core hours are Monday - Thursday 8am - 5pm and early finish Friday at 1pm

The Company: We are working in partnership with a leading engineering firm who supply products to a range of industries including marine, defence, aerospace, nuclear, utilities and industrial. They are a well renowned company in their field involved with multiple scale projects across the UK. You will be joining an established and knowledgeable down to earth team.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and hands-on individual to join this growing team. We welcome applications from those with mechanical or vehicle maintenance experience who are looking to expand their expertise and train within the Hydraulics sector. The Role:
- Carry out hydraulic engineering activities as part of a small, locally based team, ensuring high standards of service and workmanship.
- Support a variety of engineering projects across the wider business as required.
- Diagnose faults and identify effective solutions on hydraulic systems and equipment.
- Manufacture and assemble hydraulic pipework and hose assemblies to customer and operational requirements.
- Conduct inspections, surveys, and assessments of hydraulic equipment and components.
- Perform the strip-down, repair, overhaul, and reassembly of hydraulic systems and associated components.
- Utilise product and technical knowledge to recommend appropriate repair, replacement, or maintenance solutions.
- Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company procedures and industry standards.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and customers to deliver high-quality engineering solutions and support.
Skills, experience, and knowledge requirements:
- Mechanical, hydraulic, or vehicle engineering background.
- Fault-finding and repair experience on engineering equipment and systems.
- Hands-on experience with hydraulic components, hoses, and pipework assemblies.
- Positive, can-do attitude with strong problem-solving abilities.
- Keen to learn, develop new skills, and work as part of a collaborative engineering team.
