Engineering Assistant Manager

Our Facilities and Engineering team are now looking for an Assistant Engineering Manager(Contracts & Remotes)to join uson a fixed term basis until 31stDecember 2026.This is an exciting opportunity to support thecontributionto the management of contracts within our iconic Knightsbridge storeand other remote sites. You will help to ensure our buildings are safe,compliantand wellmaintained, working closely with service partners and colleagues to deliver an exceptional experience for everyone who steps into a Harrods space.

About the Role

You will be working 5 days over 7mainly Monday-Fridaybut 1 in 6 weekends, due to being part of the management rota. You will bepredominantly basedin Knightsbridge butworking on projects/contracts across our other sites. There may also be someadhoctravel to other Harrods locations.

As Assistant Engineering Manager, you willoversee service partners,repairand project works, andmaintainingcompliance across all sites. You will also play a key part in driving a culture of high performance across our engineering and maintenance operations.

Day to day, you will:

• Support project planning and execution, frominceptionto completion, ensuring asset management processes and due diligence are followed.

• Assistwith compliance reviews,inspectionsand audits across engineering, building fabric and cleaning services, resolving issues quickly and effectively.

• Help manage both routine and emergency repair work, ensuringtimelyand efficient completion.

• Contribute to deliveringa high levelof customer satisfaction by addressing issues promptly andmaintainingservice excellence.

• Act as a point of contact for colleagues,third partycontractors and building occupants on all engineering,maintenanceand cleaning matters.

• Overseabudgeting and financial reporting, raising purchase orders and approving invoices asrequired.

• Integrate with minor and asset improvement work streams, supportinglogistics, planning,executionand sign offs.

About You

You will be a proactive anddetail-orientedindividual, able to balance technicalexpertisewith strong organisational and interpersonal skills. With at least 3 to 5 years’ experience in building services and a minimum of one year in a supervisory role, you will bring both technical knowledge and the ability to support and influence others in a fast-moving environment.

You will also:

• Bring experience from working in a Facilities environment.

• Bring knowledge of building services, withadditionalexperience in areas such as lifts, escalators, cateringequipmentor building fabric works being an advantage.

• Have excellent communication skills, confident in liaising with both internal stakeholders and external service partners at all levels.

• Be calm under pressure with strong problem-solving ability and sound judgement.

• Be able to work on your own initiative, adapting to shifting priorities whileremainingfocused on results.

• Demonstrate the ability to collaborate, influence and support others to achievehigh standards.

• Lead by example, promoting Harrods values and ensuring best practice across all operations.
