We're working with a welcoming specialist setting looking for an SEMH Teaching Assistant to support pupils who need help managing their emotions, building positive relationships, and engaging with learning. Every day is different, but one thing stays the same, your support will make a real difference. What you'll be doing: Supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs Working 1:1 and in small groups to help pupils access learning Managing and de-escalating challenging behaviour using positive behaviour strategies Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils Supporting emotional regulation and social development Working closely with teachers, pastoral teams, and SEND professionals We're looking for someone who: Has experience supporting children or young people with behavioural needs Can remain calm, patient, and consistent in challenging situations Understands behaviour as communication and takes a nurturing approach Has experience in schools, alternative provisions, youth work, residential care, mentoring, or similar settings Is confident setting boundaries while building positive relationships Has excellent communication and teamwork skills Experience with any of the following would be a bonus: SEMH ADHD Autism Trauma-informed practice Alternative Provision or PRU settings Team Teach Thrive Approach Not Thrive trained?
