Do you have hands-on experience in a Dairy Herdsperson role - milking, feeding, and animal welfare? Are you passionate about dairy farming and ready to take care of a dairy cow herd in a modern, expanding farm? The Job Role: We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Dairy Herdsperson to join this family run dairy farm in the West Midlands. You will be responsible for a variety of tasks that support the daily operations of the farm. As Dairy Farm Herdsperson you will engage in activities such as milking, feeding, animal care and welfare. Currently milking around 380 dairy cow herd, with plans to develop to a 420 dairy cow herd in the near future. Location: Staffordshire / Shropshire, West Midlands. Salary Package: Paying between £13.50 - £15 Per Hour Depending on Experience plus overtime. 3-bedroom accommodation available - if you wish to relocate for work. Key Responsibilities: Maintain cleanliness and organisation of work areas to promote safety and efficiency. Provide care for livestock, including feeding, cleaning, bedding and scraping out. General farm maintenance work around the farm including field fencing. Monitor herd health and treat illness, and calving support. Carry out milking routines and maintain parlour hygiene and equipment. Detect mastitis and other production-related health issues. Prepare and manage feed rations to maintain productivity and condition. Handle and move cattle safely between housing, grazing, and milking areas. Maintain accurate records on health, breeding, and milk yields. Clean and maintain farm facilities and operate basic machinery. Follow biosecurity protocols and work with vets, managers, and team members. Candidate Requirements: Dairy farming experience, working in a similar role. A full UK driving licence. Enthusiastic, reliable and committed to working as a team.
