Job Description

The Role To lead and manage assurance activities for the installation, commissioning and maintenance of continuous water quality monitoring instrumentation across United Utilities, including wastewater and final effluent systems. The role is accountable for ensuring that supplier-delivered works consistently meet engineering standards, regulatory obligations and operational expectations, and that assurance outcomes enable reliable, compliant data to support Dynamic Treatment Management (DTM) and effective operational control. What you’ll be doing: Provide onsite assurance that instrumentation is installed in line with approved designs, specifications and United Utilities standards Verify quality of workmanship and configuration against industry best practice Assure commissioning activities including calibration, testing, verification and telemetry integration Validate sensor performance and data quality, escalating issues where standards are not met Ensure all activities comply with health & safety, environmental, regulatory and OEM requirements Confirm maintenance activities have been completed correctly, and equipment is fit for long term operation Identify, document and support resolution of defects or non-conformances prior to acceptance Produce clear assurance, commissioning and handover documentation Work collaboratively with suppliers, project teams and operational colleagues to enable safe, efficient delivery Instrumentation scope includes continuous monitoring and telemetry for: Ammonia, dissolved oxygen, turbidity, pH, temperature and associated data systems.
