Your new company A forward‑thinking high school in Blackpool is looking for an enthusiastic IT Technician to provide short‑term cover during a period of staff absence. You’ll be joining a supportive team within a large multi‑school trust that uses a blend of Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace, giving you exposure to a varied technical environment. The multi-academy trust also has upcoming summer projects across nearby sites, so there may be opportunities for additional work into August. Your new role You’ll work 22 June – 17 July, Monday to Friday 08:00–16:00, shadowing the existing IT technician in week one. In week two, you’ll work alongside another senior technician before stepping into a sole IT Technician role for 2 weeks, with support available when needed. Your day‑to‑day responsibilities will include: First‑line support to staff and students — password resets, account issues, helpdesk queries, walk‑ins, troubleshooting Supporting a mixed environment: Microsoft 365 for local systems, Google for email and shared drives Printer support, toner replacement and basic hardware fixes Providing calm, clear technical help to staff and students What you'll need to succeed The school is looking for someone who is: A reliable communicator who can support staff confidently Punctual, organised and able to work unsupervised once trained. Experienced in 1st line (and ideally some 2nd line) school‑based IT support Comfortable with Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, and general troubleshooting Able to commit to the full assignment period 22/06–17/07 (initially) A driver is preferred but not essential.
