Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership (GCHSCP) provides vital care and support to adults across the city through a wide range of services, including Older Adults Day Care Centres, Learning Disability Day Services, and Residential Care Homes.
Our services support individuals with varying levels of need, offering meaningful activities, personal care, and opportunities for social connection in both day service and care home environments.
Modern Apprentices will be placed across our day centres and care homes during their 2 year programme, gaining diverse, hands on experience of adult social care in real practice settings.

As a Modern Apprentice in Social Care, you will:• Work as part of a supportive team within day services and residential care homes.• Assist in delivering high quality care and support tailored to individual needs.• Build positive relationships with service users, supporting their wellbeing, independence, and dignity.• Participate in meaningful activity programmes, personal care tasks, and everyday routines that enhance quality of life.• Shadow experienced staff, learn on the job, and develop the confidence and competence needed for a career in social care.• Attend scheduled training sessions to gain knowledge relevant to your SVQ qualification.• Work closely with your line manager, mentor, and allocated SVQ assessor to track progress and successfully complete your qualification.
We are looking for people who can demonstrate:• Good communication and listening skills• A caring, compassionate, and patient approach• Willingness to learn from others and adapt to new situations• Reliability, trustworthiness, and a positive attitude• Ability to work well as part of a team and support both staff and service users
As part of you apprenticeship, you will complete SVQ Level 6 Social Services and Healthcare.
