What you will be doing

You will join an inclusive and supportive team that works well together to provide care to people with a range of Mental Health conditions, using your knowledge and skills to help people along their recover pathway towards leading a valued and fulfilled life.

Your day-to-day will include ward rounds, analysing behaviours and adapting care accordingly with colleagues, updating patient records, and providing overall care and support, which may include assisting with personal hygiene.  

It can be quite a challenging environment at times, so a positive attitude, compassion, resilience and vigilance are important. But it is hugely rewarding to see people improve because of your involvement, knowing that you’ve made someone’s life better.

This is a permanent full-time position, 37,5 contracted hours a week, working on shifts, between the hours of 7am and 10pm including weekends on rota.

21b Upper Brighton Road provides a specialist residential service for men who have a learning disability, or who are autistic, and have behaviours which, due to their diagnosis may be of concern/ distress. Residents may also have profound and multiple communication difficulties, sensory impairments and physical health problems. As well as supporting individuals who have a learning disability, or who are autistic, we are specialists in working with additional complex needs.   The service is staffed 24 hours a day by a dedicated team of Support Workers, led by an experienced Registered Manager.   21b Upper Brighton Road is situated in Surbiton, Surrey and provides seven en-suite bedrooms, two lounges and a large garden. There is an excellent range of community facilities and amenities close by. Surbiton is a suburban area located in the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames in southwest London. It is known for its leafy streets, green spaces, and excellent transport links. The town is served by Surbiton railway station, which provides regular services to London Waterloo. Surbiton is also well-connected by road, with easy access to the A3 and M25 motorways. The town is also served by a number of bus routes, making it easy to get around locally.
