- Current Support Worker
Dimensions is proud to be recognised as a Great Place to Work year after year.
About the role
We're looking for a confident, proactive and engaging Support Worker to join our team in Worcester (WR2), supporting a gentleman in his 50s living independently following a brain injury.
This is a highly personalised 1:1 role with some 2:1 support during morning routines, offering the opportunity to build a strong, supportive relationship and make a genuine difference every day.
You'll be working both independently and as part of a small team, balancing support with independence - knowing when to step in and when to step back.
Who you will be supporting
You'll be supporting a friendly, outgoing and sociable gentleman who enjoys a varied and active lifestyle.
He enjoys:
Going out for food, drinks and socialising
Attending concerts, gigs and shows
Music - especially rock (from Led Zeppelin to Girls Aloud!)
Watching films and relaxing at home
Motorsport and visiting events like Shelsley Walsh hill climbs
Spending time out in the community
He has a great sense of humour, is caring towards others, and enjoys engaging with people - so a similar personality will go a long way.
What you will be doing
This is a flexible and engaging role that includes:
Providing personal care support (including morning routines with 2:1 support)
Supporting independence and daily routines
Planning and supporting activities, outings and events
Preparing meals and supporting healthy routines
Administering medication
Supporting mobility and using equipment where required
Offering companionship, humour and emotional support
Respecting downtime and personal space
You'll play an important role in helping him continue to live life on his terms.
Shift patterns
This is a 30-hour role, including:
Day shifts: 9:00am - 5:00pm
Long day + sleep-in: 4:45pm - 11:00am (next day) (1-2 per week)
Sleep-in hours: 11:00pm - 8:00am (£50 paid to sleep)
Rotas are provided in advance to support work-life balance.
About you
You'll be a great fit if you are:
A strong communicator, confident in lone working
Proactive and able to plan engaging activities
Friendly, fun and have a great sense of humour
Respectful of independence and personal boundaries
Flexible and adaptable to changing needs
Reliable and organised
Someone who enjoys getting out and about
A confident manual driver
Experience is helpful but not essential - full training will be provided.
Family involvement
There is minimal family involvement, so building a strong, consistent relationship is especially important in this role.
Rewards that make a difference
A competitive pay rate with uplift for overtime you choose to work
Flexible shift patterns to support your needs
30 days' paid annual leave (including public holidays - pro rata)
Opportunities for career progression
Supported Learn to Drive scheme (where applicable)
Salary advance scheme - access up to 50% earned pay before payday
High Street discounts (shopping, dining, entertainment, gyms)
