Earlier this year we launched Guardian Studios, our new creative hub for personality-led video. Created as part of a multi-year transformation programme, Guardian Studios will strive to bring new audiences to the best of what the Guardian is, by creating a slate of new video shows to launch on YouTube and other digital platforms. We are now hiring a social producer to join the newly-launched team to help deliver this work and shape its future success. In this role you’ll be creating engaging social content to support Guardian Studios’ longform output. You’ll also be closely involved with show launch strategy, working alongside marketing to devise content that will get audiences excited about and engaged in what is coming. This is a 12-month fixed-term contract or internal staff secondment. About the role: Create visual content for any shows (primarily Instagram and Tiktok) with the aim of engaging and informing a global audience Contribute towards the development process - making social an integrated part of the editorial vision for Guardian Studios, intrinsic to each show Devise best practice, visual style, and tone of voice for social promotion, posts and videos Producing social-first, talent-led content for shows, alongside on-screen talent Produce cutdown clips of shows for social Monitor, analyse and measure social engagement as required, across all channels, and optimise content (title, images, graphics, and other metrics) in line with performance About you: Experience developing and producing talent-led social-first content. Experience producing social clips and other assets for off-platform audiences. Deep understanding of social media analytics, and the best ways to track performance and engagement. Experience making social content that successfully promotes editorial video output. Demonstrable success creating social content which consistently drives engagement and reach. Experience in social media channel management, with a strategic understanding of how these channels can be best used to cultivate community and engagement. Strong communication skills, with the ability to work with high-profile on-screen talent. Collaborative, open and inclusive in approach.
