Job Description Post: Transport Monitoring Officer Transport Monitoring Officer Department: Place Directorate Responsible to: Contract Manager - Transport Responsible for: Admin Assistant(s), Student Placements, etc Purpose of the Post: Transport Monitoring Officer To provide technical and strategic support to the Contract Manager - Transport and other senior team members, in relation to technical and operational systems and performance monitoring across Transport services. To provide a range of technical and operational support to the Transport service through the collection and collation of statistical and performance data and production of reports and operational schedules for frontline service delivery. To take a lead role in the planning, development and implementation of systems for driver hours, Fuel Card usage, Health & Safety related inspection regulations and Driving Licence inspections Develop, implement and maintain systems in line with the departmental, Local and National initiatives. Engage in projects to develop and improve internal processes that will contribute to continual service improvement in the Transport function Duties and Responsibilities: 1. To provide technical support within the Transport service and to undertake specific duties allocated as detailed in work programmes. 2. Assist in providing information to aid in the management of the Transport service and provide accurate and timely management information in order that the Contract Manager - Transport can develop strategies in line with service improvements and budgetary constraints. 3. Identify and implement management control systems to improve operational control of MOT reconciliation, and statutory inspection processes relating to Transport functions. 4. Analyse and interpret data derived from the Transport function and present findings to the Contract Manager - Transport. 5. Manage, monitor and maintain Transport Service data providing specific service related reports and information in order that identified service improvements can be implemented in a timely manner. 6. Liaise and work with other service areas and managers to make sure information is updated and available to assess efficiency and effectiveness with Client services, eg Recycling & Waste, Streetscene, Civil Engineering, etc.
