Job DescriptionGlasgow City Council (GCC) is the largest local authority in Scotland, with 24,000 employees who provide Glasgow residents with a diverse range of services in their roles. We currently have vacancies available within a number of areas across Financial Services, including Customer and Business Services, our Assessors and Electoral Registration Office and our Service Development, Governance and Risk teams. This role presents a fantastic opportunity for someone wishing to gain a wide range of administration, customer service and business experience within our organisation. You'll be helping out with lots of different tasks and types of work, giving you loads of experience of working in an admin environment. In order to be successful with us, you must; Demonstrate excellent communication skills Be customer focused Have great IT and organisational skills Have the ability to produce work to a high standard, with great attention to detail and accuracy Have a positive approach to learning new skills Have the ability to follow instructions from your manager and other colleagues Be able to work effectively as part of a team Candidates should also have a good general education, basic PC skills and a knowledge of Microsoft Office software like Word, Excel and PowerPoint This post is fixed term for a period up to 2 year. As a Modern Apprentice, as well as working in your day-to-day role, you will be studying towards a Scottish Vocational Qualification (SVQ). During your apprenticeship you will work towards your qualification, whilst being able to apply your learning to the real life business environment. In turn, you will receive first class training, excellent conditions and experience of working in one of Glasgow’s leading employers.
