At Cherrytree Care Home, we are seeking a passionate and talented Chef/Cook to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong culinary background, with the ability to create exceptional meals that meet a variety of dietary needs. Responsibilities: Prepare and cook high-quality meals for our residents, ensuring taste, quality, and presentation. Cater to a range of dietary needs, including vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free, and diabetic diets. Specialise in creating visually appealing puree meals that are both nutritious and aesthetically pleasing. Work closely with management and nutritionists to plan weekly menus that are balanced, nutritious, and exciting. Follow strict food safety and hygiene regulations to maintain a clean and organised kitchen. Manage food inventory efficiently, collaborating with staff for timely ordering and receiving of supplies. Be mindful of allergens and implement necessary precautions to prevent allergic reactions. Communicate with residents and their families to understand dietary preferences, restrictions, and allergies. Collaborate with care home staff to address dietary concerns and meet resident preferences. Seek feedback from residents to continually improve the dining experience, adjusting recipes, presentation, and flavours as needed. Stay updated on culinary trends and nutrition advancements to further enhance your skills. Requirements: Proven experience as a Chef/Cook, preferably in a care home, hospital, or similar setting. Knowledge of various dietary requirements and expertise in puree food preparation. Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene regulations, including HACCP principles. Ability to adapt to individual dietary preferences while maintaining nutritional balance. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with residents, families, and staff. Strong organisational skills to manage kitchen operations, including menu planning and stock control. Creativity in presenting meals, especially for puree dishes. Efficient time management to ensure meals are served on schedule. Physical stamina to work in a fast-paced environment, including standing for long periods and lifting when necessary.
