Job Description

Purpose of the Role To deliver a proactive, hands-on quality assurance function within a fast-paced animal by-products manufacturing environment. The role ensures that all raw materials, processes, and finished products comply with internal standards, HACCP requirements, and regulatory obligations. You will work closely with production teams to promote best practice, monitor product quality, and drive continuous improvement through auditing, data trending, and practical on-the-floor engagement. Reporting directly to the Group HSEQ Manager, you will also support wider business objectives as required. Key Responsibilities Conduct regular factory walkarounds (multiple daily), reinforcing good manufacturing practices (GMP+) and ISO standards Monitor and verify compliance with HACCP plans, including Critical Control Points (CCPs) Actively support production teams by providing hands-on guidance and problem-solving on quality issues Carry out internal audits (GMP, glass & hard plastics, hygiene) and trend findings to identify recurring issues Assist with and participate in external audits, ensuring site readiness at all times Perform product traceability exercises and verification checks Conduct routine checks on metal detection, antioxidants, and product conformity Monitor cleaning standards and equipment compliance, including maintaining stocked and compliant shadow boards Identify, report, and follow up on hygiene and housekeeping issues, working directly with teams to resolve them Support the development and delivery of training materials and shop-floor training Attend and contribute to meetings relating to quality, food/feed safety, and compliance Maintain accurate records and produce reports to support quality performance monitoring Undertake any other duties as reasonably required by the Senior Management Team Support the Quality Control Supervisor and lab when required. Highlight H&S concerns in real time.
