Grounds and Maintenance Technician Aurora Eccles School and Aurora White House School We're currently looking for Grounds and Maintenance Technician to join our team in Quidenham. You will be working across both Eccles and White House schools alongside the maintenance team to assist in maintaining the site by ensuring the overall upkeep of the school site, focusing primarily on the external areas of the site. Part of the Aurora Group, Aurora Eccles School and Aurora White House School in Quidenham, Norwich provide day placements for students aged 6 to 16 years primarily with communication and interaction difficulties or specific learning difficulties such as dyslexia. Some may be on the autistic spectrum or have anxieties and difficulties that create barriers to learning. To take a virtual look around the schools please click here: Eccles Virtual Tour and White House Virtual Tour Key Duties: Maintain grass, hedges, and external areas to a high standard, including mowing, strimming, and weed control. Keep site clean and safe by clearing litter, leaves, gutters, and drains. Maintain equipment, coordinating servicing and repairs as needed. Support pest control and adhere to wildlife and safety regulations. Assist with seasonal tasks such as gritting in winter. Carry out basic repairs and upkeep of fences and external features. Support the wider maintenance team with general site duties, including painting and repairs. Skills: Ability to work well in a team and on own initiative Demonstrable attention to detail and pride in work Organised and able to prioritise own workload Ability to recognise the need for confidentiality Demonstrates effective interpersonal skills Ability to be flexible Knowledge: Understanding of safe working principles and Health and Safety legislation COSHH โ safe use of chemicals Understanding impact of works on wildlife and adjustments required (nesting season and protected species) Experience Experience of maintaining grounds in a similar role is essential Due to the location of the school, candidates must hold a full UK driving licence and have access to their own vehicle.
