Position: Young People Support Worker
Location: Basildon, Essex
Salary: Paid per trip
Hours: Flexible, ad hoc work including weekends, evenings and holidays
Contract: Part time
About the Role
This is a rewarding opportunity to support young people through a range of activities, short breaks and holidays across the UK and overseas. You will play a key role in helping young people enjoy new experiences, develop independence, build friendships and have fun in a safe and supportive environment.
No two trips are the same. One weekend you could be supporting a group activity break in the UK, the next you could be helping young people enjoy an overseas holiday or day trip. This is a hands on and active role where enthusiasm, patience and a positive attitude are essential.
Key responsibilities include:
Supporting young people during activities, holidays and short breaks
Encouraging independence, confidence and social inclusion
Providing practical and emotional support where needed
Helping to create safe, enjoyable and memorable experiences
Working closely with a supportive and experienced team
Ensuring the wellbeing and safety of the young people you support
About You
We are looking for people who are dependable, compassionate and enjoy working as part of a team. Experience in care or support work is helpful but not essential, as full training and support will be provided.
You will ideally have:
A caring, patient and positive approach
Good communication and teamwork skills
Flexibility and willingness to work on different trips and activities
The ability to remain calm and adaptable in different situations
A full UK driving licence
A genuine passion for helping young people thrive
This role could suit people from a variety of backgrounds including care, youth work, education, sports coaching, support work or community work.
