Electrical Fitter Newcastle Upon Tyne Reporting to the Production Supervisor 2 Shift Pattern (early/ late) £23.05 per hour PAYE Role Overview: We are seeking a skilled Electrical Fitter to support the manufacture and assembly of advanced hydrogen power units. This role involves building, wiring, and testing electrical systems and control panels that form part of hydrogen-based energy solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong electrical experience, the ability to read technical drawings, and a keen focus on safety and quality in a clean manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities: Assemble and wire electrical components, control panels, and sub-assemblies for hydrogen power units. Interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and layout drawings. Install cable containment systems (trunking, conduit, cable trays). Carry out point-to-point wiring and terminations to a high standard. Perform electrical testing (continuity, insulation resistance, functional checks). Support integration of components such as PLCs, sensors, and power distribution systems. Work closely with mechanical fitters and engineers during system build. Identify and report faults, discrepancies. Ensure all work complies with relevant standards. Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work environment. Follow strict safety procedures, especially when working with hydrogen-related systems. Skills, Experience & Qualifications: NVQ Level 3 in Engineering (Electrical or related discipline) - essential Proven experience as an Electrical Fitter, Panel Wirer, or Electrical Technician Ability to read and understand electrical drawings and schematics Experience with control panel wiring and electrical assembly Familiarity with industrial electrical components (relays, contactors, breakers, PLCs) Competence in using electrical testing equipment Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality Good problem-solving skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Adhere to all company health and safety policies Follow safe working practices in environments involving hydrogen systems Use appropriate PPE at all times Participate in risk assessments and safety briefings Working Conditions: Workshop/manufacturing environment May involve standing for extended periods Occasional lifting of components and assemblies Potential for overtime depending on production demands Kinetic plc is a Recruitment Consultancy with over 40 years' experience delivering staffing solutions to the engineering, manufacturing and technical industries.
