SEMH Mentor Location: Aston, Birmingham B6 Daily Pay Rate: £110 - £125 Start Date: September Start Working Days: Monday to Friday (Term Time Only) Contract: Long-Term vacancy Are you passionate about supporting children's emotional wellbeing and helping pupils overcome barriers to learning? Long Term Futures are working alongside a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Aston, Birmingham to recruit an experienced and compassionate SEMH Mentor to join their pastoral support team. This is a rewarding opportunity to work across the school, supporting pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs, helping them build confidence, improve emotional regulation and positively engage with education. The school is looking for someone who can provide a calm and consistent presence for pupils who may present with behavioural challenges, emotional difficulties or additional SEN needs. This role would suit someone with previous experience supporting SEMH within a primary school setting, particularly those with a strong understanding of trauma-informed practice, emotional regulation and behaviour support strategies. The Role: Delivering targeted SEMH and pastoral interventions Supporting pupils with emotional regulation and behaviour management Carrying out wellbeing check-ins and providing mentoring support Working 1:1 with pupils who require additional emotional or behavioural support Supporting pupils with neurodiverse needs, including Autism and ADHD traits Helping pupils remain engaged, settled and ready to learn Building positive and trusting relationships with children across the school Working collaboratively with teachers, SEN staff and pastoral leads Supporting safeguarding and wellbeing processes where appropriate What We're Looking For: Have previous experience supporting SEMH needs within a primary school Have strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills Understand trauma-informed approaches and emotional regulation strategies Have experience delivering pastoral or wellbeing interventions Can confidently build positive relationships with pupils and families Work well as part of a wider pastoral and safeguarding team Have DSL or safeguarding training (desirable but not essential) Why Work with Long Term Futures?
