Interim Financial Accountant (Real Estate) London - 5 days in office (6 months) £400 - £450 p/day We have exclusively partnered with a fantastic REIT in their search for an Interim Financial Accountant. The successful incumbent will oversee financial reporting, capital activity, and operational accounting across a portfolio of real estate joint ventures and development entities. This role is well suited to a qualified accountant who is comfortable managing complex fund flows, working with external partners, and supporting a broad range of internal teams. A strong eye for detail, a proactive mindset, and the ability to work to tight deadlines are essential. Key responsibilities: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual partnership financial statements in line with FRS 102 and IFRS (US GAAP exposure beneficial). Manage the flow of financial information between operating partners, business partners, and internal stakeholders. Perform monthly data uploads and reconciliations of operating partners submissions within Yardi. Review operator financial reports, conducting variance analysis and investigating discrepancies. Prepare and maintain supporting workpapers and execute monthly internal control procedures. Consolidate financial and operational data for reporting, forecasting, and performance analysis. Calculate and process monthly distributions to business partners, ensuring accuracy and compliance with agreements. Assist with tax reporting and compliance, including preparation of data for external advisors. Support internal and external audits, providing documentation and resolving queries efficiently. Maintain accurate balance sheet reconciliations, including cash, investments, and partner capital accounts. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance reporting accuracy, controls, and efficiency. Skills & Qualifications Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent). 1-3 years of experience in public accounting or a corporate finance/accounting environment preferred. Exposure to fund flows, drawdowns, capital calls, or joint-venture reporting is highly beneficial. Working knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS is required Experience with Yardi and US GAAP is highly beneficial.
