About the role
We're looking for a proactive, kind and outdoorsy Female Support Worker to join our team in BA14. You'll be supporting three women, each living in their own flat within the same building. All are adults aged from their 20s to their 60s, with mild learning disabilities and well-managed epilepsy.
Support is provided through a mix of 1:1 time and core shared support, creating plenty of variety throughout your shifts.
Who you will be supporting
Each woman has her own personality, interests and goals. You'll support them to live independently, enjoy their favourite activities and feel confident in their daily lives.
Interests & routines include:
Shopping trips and days out
Hair appointments and getting their nails done
Dog walking and a love of animals (dog-lovers especially welcome!)
Enjoying a bit of humour, cheekiness and friendly conversation
Quiet, peaceful environments for those who prefer calm routines
Support needs include:
Personal care: Yes (for one person)
Hoist use: Not required
Wheelchair use: One woman uses a wheelchair when out in the community
Support with meals: Active support approach
Medication administration: Yes (for one person)
Experience: Not essential - we provide full training
Family involvement:
Two individuals have strong support from their families, so open, positive communication is key.
What you will be doing
You'll support the ladies to live full, confident and independent lives, including:
Personal care (for one person)
Supporting independence through Active Support
Encouraging involvement in everyday tasks
Community activities, shopping trips and dog walks
Meal preparation and cooking
Administering medication
Supporting wellbeing, choice and daily routines
Providing friendly, patient and person-centred care
This role suits someone who enjoys being out and about, values gentle encouragement, and can adapt to different communication styles and preferences.
Shift patterns
This is a part-time weekend role (15-30 hours) with set shifts and additional optional day hours depending on need.
Weekend shifts include:
10:00am - 3:00pm
8:30am - 5:00pm
5:00pm - 10:00pm
Additional weekday hours may be available depending on changing support needs.
