5 Axis CNC Operator

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled CNC Setter/Operator with experience in 5 Axis machining to join our client's manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC machines to produce quality timber items.

Duties:

• Set up and operate Homag & Felder 5 Axis CNC machines, ensuring precise calibration and alignment for production
• Interpret technical drawings to determine requirements
• Perform routine maintenance
• Use hand tools, power tools, and tooling to assist with machine setup, part inspection, and minor repairs
• Document data and and accurate records
• Ensure all safety protocols are followed during operation, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Edit codes to produce parts
• Support assembly tasks as needed to complete finished products

Skills:

• Proven experience setting and operating 5 Axis CNC machines in a manufacturing environment
• Competent with machining and ideally timber products
• Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, and tooling for machine setup and maintenance
• Basic mathematical skills for measurements and calculations related to machining tolerances
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
• Good organisational and problem solving skills with the ability to follow safety procedures
